If this service has not had a CQC inspection since it registered with us, our judgement may be based on our assessment of declarations and evidence supplied by the service. Our infection prevention and control inspections look at how well people using a service are kept safe from the spread of infections. Our residents choose how they spend their day and this extends to when to bathe, when and where meals are taken, and whether they wish to participate in the planned activities within the home.
Please feel free to contact them regarding any financial queries. Optician– Optical services are available from our visiting Optician, these will be organised on a regular basis and where necessary. Ashton Lodge offers a full laundry service for people living in the centre.

– the service is performing badly and we've taken enforcement action against the provider of the service. Under the supervision of our nursing staff, residents also benefit from specialists offering their services such as physiotherapy, speech therapy, dental and optical care. The home benefits from an excellent reputation within the community, local regulatory teams and CQC for providing care with warmth, dignity and compassion in a relaxed and friendly environment. See CQC's page explaining ratings for more details about ratings and inspection practices of care homes in England.

If any person living in the home, relative or visitor has any comments or wishes to raise any issues, the manager will be happy to discuss them. To aid this process we will hold relatives meetings on a regular basis. In the interest of security for all the people who live in the home and staff everyone will be required to ring the doorbell to gain entry to Ashton Lodge and sign into the visitors register. However, should residents choose to retain the services of their own GP, we are happy for them to do so.

Chronic medical conditions can require quality, continuous care only found in a skilled nursing facility. At Ashton Medical Lodge, you will find a team of experienced clinicians - on-site physicians, physician assistants, physical and occupational therapists - working together to manage each resident’s care plan. All our care assistants follow a structured induction and foundationprogramme, which meets the Skills for Care requirements. Many of our care assistants have previous experience of working in the care field. The care assistants work alongside and under the guidance of the trained staff.

Fire instructions are placed at each alarm system panel and by the lifts. We would ask that all visitors make themselves familiar with them. We would also ask that ALL visitors complete the Visitors Book on arrival and departure, so that staff are aware at all times of who is in the building in the event of a fire. Our dedicated Activity Co-ordinators provide a programme of meaningful activities which include regular outings, live entertainment, bingo, pet therapy and much more.
